Lizzi & Sam

Lizzi and Sam were married in Lambeth Town Hall on Wednesday 4th November 2020, bought forward and planned in a matter of days due to the looming second lockdown. With the latest restrictions due to come in, we managed to reschedule their ceremony with the support from the Lambeth Register Office and were able to bring forward their Intimate Reception thanks to  our fantastic catering supplier, Dinner Ladies.

Having booked their wedding a year previously and after the disappointment of changing their wedding date so many times, the couple were ready to finally walk down the aisle, so jumped at the chance when we offered to deliver their special day as soon as possible. The couple only had a few days to organise the wedding so we called their very nearest and dearest and told them to book the day off work and get an outfit together as they'd be getting married in a few days!

Lambeth Town hall was the perfect setting for our intimate wedding and it felt very private and unique

Lizzi and Sam were friends for a few years before Sam asked Lizzi on a date to Brixton, so the area has always meant a great to deal them as a couple.

Sam proposed to Lizzi when they were at her parents house, where they had been staying for a month ahead of their house being ready to move into. The proposal was particularly special to Lizzi because her family could be part of the happy occasion, including her granny who wasn't very well. Lizzi was so glad that her granny could be there to celebrate with them, although she did tell Sam not to let Lizzi bully him into anything he didn't want to do for their wedding!

The couple chose Lambeth Town Hall as their venue as they both grew up in the local area and of course, had their first date in Brixton. Their original plan of hosting 90 of their friends and family in the Mayor's Heritage Suites was hindered like so many couples due to covid restrictions. However, with their revised guest number of 14 they were able to put their budget towards the Intimate Package, using the Circular Hall for their ceremony and the Mayor's Heritage Suite for a seated socially-distanced reception.

The couple were only able to have 14 people at the wedding so the were joined by their close family and three friends only. Luckily, they really enjoyed the intimacy of a small wedding and felt the Circular Hall was perfect for their ceremony - Lizzi loved how beautiful, bright and open it was and how the light came through the stained-glass windows.

They also commented that it was really enjoyable having a small reception as they were able to speak to all of their guests, which would been very difficult had it been the larger wedding as planned.

It couldn't have gone better. We have had to change the date of our wedding numerous times due to Covid but the venue have been so accommodating and have gone above and beyond to make our wedding happen. It was so easy and a joy to work with them. The venue looked beautiful on the day too. I want to thank you again for everything that you did to make this wedding finally happen.
